Lisa McCall is a Master Teacher, Choreographer, Producer, Director, Booking Agent, Spiritual Iya and Community Leader who has taught around the world. She is the first African American woman who has received the Folkloric Dance Award as a Cultural Dance Ambassador to bridge the gap between America and Grenada through the arts.
Lisa McCall is rooted in Folkloric Music and Dance. Her movements is based in dances of the African, Caribbean and Haitian Diaspora. Mama Lisa's Afro Cuban Drum and Dance Society is a very popular class in the community. This class is rooted in the traditions of Afro Cuban Dance and explores all the various Rumba's and Dances of the Orisha. Lisa McCall has worked with great legendary icons as Katherine Dunham, Baba Olatunji, Baba Ishangi, Baba Chuck Davis, Forces of Nature, Ali Abdullah, Alvin Ailey, Joan Peter's Dunham Company and Clifford Fears Dunham Society, Charlie Atkins and George Faison just to name a few.
